We've got many folks writing with Leaflet now — some of us taking part in this blog club and aiming to keep regular momentum!

I want to share some fun prompts you might find useful for getting your blog energy flowing.

Completely optional, just a nice fallback if you feel like writing something this (or any) week, but aren't sure where to start!

🌞🌞🌞

  • Photo blog: pick a few recent favorite photos, write up a short sentence or two for each as caption, maybe play with fun ways of sequencing / organizing into sections

  • Neighborhood blog: share favorite spots, things to do…maybe even invite others to contribute

  • Favorite websites: write about sites you love visiting, exploring, returning to and re-reading

  • Personal canon: share media that means a lot to you, in any form: favorite books, movies, albums, essays…

  • Describe a project idea: what's something you really want to make but has been on the back burner…can you share your vision, re-excite yourself, ask others to help, or just to share feedback and encouragement?

  • Write a roundup: collect recent conversations that have resonated, links on a topic you've been exploring, etc., and maybe include some light commentary or reflections

  • Sketch out a small series: plan a series of several posts that could be fun to blog about over the coming weeks…what might part one look like? can you start by writing that?

  • Write an appreciation: play with form — an open letter, a public recommendation; play with topic — write about a person, a place, a poem, a product…whatever!

  • Review something you think is cool: even more fun if something out of the ordinary; you might, for example, review…a tree! some PDFs you've got on your computer!

  • Book collection: share a reading list of favorite books, or ones you want to read but haven't yet! could be around a theme, or just ones that have caught your eye recently

  • Describe a favorite walk: perhaps a specific route; perhaps a park or neighborhood you love exploring…if others were to share this walk, what should they pay attention to?

  • Games you'd like to play: describe favorite variants that you love to play with friends or family…or, invent a new game or new set of rules you think it'd be fun to try!

  • Learning list: write about people you'd like to meet and learn from; ideas or areas you'd like to explore more…

  • Ideas for hosting: describe an event, party, meetup or other gathering you'd like to host, on or offline; start planning it!

  • Outline a longer piece: describe something longer you'd love to write, or that you think should exist; channel your inner Borges or Lem in sketching a speculative text

  • Write a manifesto: share a vision for the future, a reality to inspire: grand; bombastic…or intimate; dreamlike; arcane

  • Imagine your ideal school: to learn or to teach at, or both! what's its special niche, its particular vibe, its structure, its programs of study, its course catalog?
