The end of summer draws near, and so too must our inaugural experimental summer blog club, Summer of Pub ☀️

I'll return with a final post in the next week or so, with closing reflection / retrospective — lots I think we can do better for future things like this! For now I wanted to share our final participant list:

Leaflet blog club: list of participants - Summer of Pub
Here's who's blogging so far…reach out to be added to the list!

…and encourage you one last time to explore each other's work and chime in with quotes / comments on any posts that resonate!

Some highlights:

  • Shout out Dungeon Merlin for starting a pattern language for OSR adventure design…and getting a third party pattern contribution!

  • Jake's been so consistent with Dreaming at the Edge of the Apocalypse—love his playful pedagogical nomenclatural coinages

  • Jay's prolifically sharing small poetic fragments at BYENNE

  • Ranganaut started a cool series on philosophy and modeling and started a whole new daily publication, The Daily Planet!

  • Maya (omayagawd) and Eva (Eva's Garden) each published one super good post…please write more y'all!

  • Eli wrote several Streamplace bangers, adeptly balancing technical deep dive + readable explainer

  • JT published a dope writeup on Mold Net

  • Ben's been cooking physics-inspired metaphors for creativity and collaboration at shimmeringvoid

  • Kyle's started exploring the stories of trees used to make musical instruments with the Tonewood Project

And that's only about half our total participants!

This is also one more gentle nudge to publish any lingering drafts. I certainly have a few to finish up! Of course excited to follow all these blogs as long as they continue; blog club is but a construct :)

I'd also love to hear thoughts / suggestions for if we (or others) try something like this again, whether another casual blog club, more focused themed formats, or other experiments in communal writing!
